"As a visual artist, I have always been interested in exploring different media. This series of digital works emerged from one such exploration. It was during the covid lockdown in 2020 that I started working on digital paintings and photo montages on my phone. It started as a random exercise, but soon I discovered that my phone was the most appropriate tool to record and express my pandemic experiences. It suited my intent to quickly create a work which captured the spontaneous thoughts and memories that occurred to me.
Covid and the lockdown forced me to stay in my native village for nearly a year, which in turn made me confront the love-hate relationship I shared with my family and it's surroundings. Because of this peculiar relationship, I had not stayed at home for such a stretch of time for the past few years. Covid had made this long stay unavoidable, and thus opened doors which I thought were closed and rekindled relations which I thought were dead. reflected freshly on the memories I shared with this land, people and on my own identity.
