Subhankar Das

Subhankar Das is fascinated by the shape of the eye. An eye is a window to the outer world. Subhankar’s round ceramic pieces are myriad representations of the eye as a metaphor. They talk about the male gaze that objectifies women's bodies and leads to perennial violence against females. Subhankar's eyes are also watchful of all the atrocities happening in society. 

Subhankar Das is a ceramic art practitioner based in Kolkata. He has been part of several exhibitions and workshops for the last many years. Subhankar received the certificate of a merit award from the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata in 2019. He completed his graduation and post-graduation in ceramics from the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata, in 2017 and 2019.
