"Those of us who are introduced to folklore and fairy-tales at an early age, be it leafing through picture books or hearing bedtime stories, may relate to the powerful nostalgic tug of these alternate realities beyond our own unexciting lives. My works are an attempt to bring to life this inner world of fantasy via vibrant fairy-tale-like imagery often with a morose central figure, sunken in the void. Dominant motifs include the interplay of luminescence, quirky and sensuous forms, with most backdrops involving the element of darkness for an enigmatic appeal. "
