Born in Rahamaria, Assam, Pallov Saikia obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Painting from the Government College of Art and Crafts, Guwahati, Assam (2012) and a Master’s Degree from the S. N. School of Arts and Communication, University of Hyderabad (2016).
He is currently working as an Assistant professor in Arunachal Pradesh.
Pallov Saikia embarked on a project in Rahmaria, located in Upper Assam, India’s north-eastern region. The project aimed to delve into the history of the people, the place, the culture, and the societal changes occurring within. Through various mediums such as video, audio, painting, photography, drawing, and writing, he sought to encapsulate the essence of this community and its transformations. The photographs he took became an integral part of this project, capturing glimpses of the vibrant stories and experiences that unfolded within Rahamaria.
