Dhi Residency Program – 2023

Since 2014 Dhi Artspace has been an incubator for emerging artists and a space for contemporary art discourse. We are happy to inform you about Dhi’s Artists’ Residency program, which will be happening in culturally vibrant Hyderabad. You will also be exploring the cultural diversity and rich heritage of Hyderabad city through this program.

The residency will last for 4 weeks, at the end of which the artists will hold an open studio along with an interactive presentation of their works. The program will be fully funded by Dhi Artspace, for the entire duration of the residency.

As part of the mentorship program, each artist will be given the opportunity to interact with senior art practitioners and visit their studios; and also hold an interactive session with students from chosen art institutions in Hyderabad.

This will be a Fully funded residency program and will also include mentorship, studio visits, City Exploration, and an Honorarium.

Location:

Dhi Artspace is located at Ameerpet. It is 7 km from Secunderabad railway station and 1.5 km from Begumpet Railway Station, from Nampally railway station it is 7 km. The airport is 27 km. It is very close to the metro train too. You even have hotels, shopping malls, theaters, etc.

Residency Rules:

As the studio space is provided for free, any damage to the physical property will have to be borne by the artist.

Local travels, the artists have to take care on their own.

Dhi Artspace management reserves the right to select/discontinuation of the artists.

All the resident artists are required to be in Hyderabad on specified dates. Dhi will not be responsible for any thefts, or mishaps during the Residency, which may occur due to unforeseen circumstances.

Resident Artists must make their own arrangements for medical insurance. Artists are advised to carry with you prescribed medicines as per your medical requirements.

Travel & Allowance:

Dhi Artspace would reimburse the train tickets that you spend to and fro, on the submission of the tickets. The local artists do not have this option to avail. The Gallery provides accommodation with the workplace, Internet Facility & for Food we shall pay cash of 4,000/- per week.

Duration:

The time duration of the residency will be of 4 weeks. No artist will be allowed to take leave/ break for other engagements during the residency, rather than that of the Organization and Public Holidays.

Support:

Artists will be provided with travel allowance, food, Art supplies, studio visit, and City exploration.

Grant:

Artists will be awarded an amount of 10,000/- (Ten Thousand rupees) as an honorarium for participating in Dhi’s Residency program.

Selection criteria:

The Applications will be reviewed by the review committee considering the Statement of intent and previous works of the artist.

Selection process:

The program’s mentor will evaluate the applications by considering the selection criteria.
